Upon waking in the morning, before getting out of bed, take a few minutes to connect to yourself before starting the day.
Place your hands over your heart, feel your chest rise and fall as you breathe. Check in with your body, how does it feel this morning? Quiet the mind chatter as you redirect yourself to feeling your body and noticing sensations.
Take a moment to feel and appreciate your body-thanking it for all it does-it breathes without conscious reminders, it processes nutrients and toxins for your sustainability, it houses your soul/essence, it moves you around in the world. Thanking your body for all it does, with deep appreciation for it presence.
With your hands still on your heart, feeling the rise and fall of your chest, say out loud, or to yourself: I Love myself, I Love my life, I Love this world, repeat this several times.
Feel the words energies infuse every cell in your body, emanating from the center of your Heart.
Check back into your body before removing your hands from the heart center. Notice how your energy is different than when you started. What has shifted in you? What feels different to you?
This experience can be done several times a day as needed. Sometimes, when I feel scattered, I do this activity to become more grounded/calm. The paradox to this activity is that you will also feel more energized with a deep calming.
What a lovely way to start your day! I do something similar; upon awakening I lay in bed, stroke my breastbone, look at the trees outside my window, the plants in my room, and simply bath myself in gratitude.
